Bachelor of Arts Honours in Buddhist Philosophy

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Buddhist Philosophy at Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka is a credit-based program with 84 credits. Students study compulsory core courses in Buddhist philosophy, including Philosophical Background in India, Buddhist Philosophy: Fundamental Teachings, Buddhist Ethics, Theravāda Tradition and Abhidhamma, Inter-Sectarian Buddhist Thought, and Buddhism and Contemporary Issues.

The curriculum also includes Indian Philosophical Thoughts and Study of Primary Sources, followed by courses such as Buddhist Psychology, Buddhist Epistemology, Mahāyāna Philosophy, Philosophy of Language, Tibetan Buddhism, and Buddhist Logic. In the final year, students complete Research Methodology and a Research Dissertation (6 credits) alongside courses including Buddhism and Scientific Thoughts, Buddhism and Criticism Views, Philosophical Trends in Buddhism, and Buddhist Emotional Intelligence.
