The Master of Fine Arts Programme in Photography at Göteborg University (K2FOT) focuses on refining an individual photographic project. Students develop their photographic practice, technical skills, and critical and theoretical understanding. The programme includes work with social, aesthetic, and political dimensions of photography, and it supports students in communicating their artistic vision through exhibitions, collaborations, and the creation of artist books and/or digital publications.
The programme runs on a campus study pace of 100% and uses group discussions, one-on-one meetings with teachers, and coursework in photographic theory. The publication course trains professional techniques for producing a photographic publication, including making a book dummy. The professional development course supports presenting work to an audience and developing practical experience in project planning and execution, leading to a master’s thesis as an investigative essay.
It is aimed at graduates in photography, fine art, visual arts, or applicants with professional experience in photography and related fields. Graduates receive the degree Master of Fine Arts with a major in Photography.
