Halmstad University Sweden Scholarships for International Students

Halmstad University offers a number of scholarships for international students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who are required to pay tuition fee. The stated purpose is to provide tuition fee reductions for applicants within any field of study applying to Halmstad University’s Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.

The scholarship applies to applicants applying to a bachelor’s or master’s programme at Halmstad University. Selection is based on the merit score of the qualifying education. The scholarship committee states that it does not consider work experience or the student’s financial situation. Halmstad University also states that it prioritises applicants from countries with few applicants, and that applicants must be qualified and admitted to a programme at Halmstad University to be awarded a scholarship.

The scholarship is initially granted for one semester and is automatically extended for the duration of the study programme if study results are satisfactory. Scholarship holders must complete 75% of the credits each semester (22.5 credits out of 30). The scholarship holder must pay the remaining tuition fee amount before the deadline shown in the invoice and must progress to the next semester; interrupting studies or applying for leave of absence means the scholarship requirements are no longer met.

1. Apply to one of Halmstad University’s bachelor’s or master’s programmes as your first priority in the application at University Admissions (HU programme as first choice is eligible to apply).
2. Submit the application on time via University Admissions and pay the application fee.
3. After submitting, eligible applicants receive an email with a link to the online scholarship application form.
4. Complete the online scholarship application form and provide the application number received from University Admissions.
5. After selection, Halmstad University notifies recipients by email after the first Notification of Selection Results and sends a scholarship nomination letter and an invoice with the deducted scholarship amount; accept or decline by the deadline stated in the nomination letter.
