KTH Scholarship in Sweden – Tuition Fee Scholarship for International Students

KTH Scholarship covers the full tuition fee of a one or two year master’s programme. The selection process focuses on academic excellence and drive to contribute to sustainable development. The scholarship covers tuition fee for the first and second year, if study results during the first year are satisfactory, and does not include living costs.

The KTH Scholarship is aimed at applicants to eligible master’s programmes at KTH. It is available for master’s programmes with two years spent at KTH, the joint master’s programmes in Molecular Techniques in Life Science and Biostatistics and Data Science, and the one-year master’s programme in Architectural Lighting Design.

Selection is undertaken in parallel with the admissions process. Only applicants who fulfil the admission requirements for the applied programme are eligible. Scholarship assessment is based on grades (GPA or equivalent), ranking of the university that awarded the bachelor’s degree, extracurricular research experiences or publications, relevant work experience, relevant teaching experience, awards from competitions and extracurricular activities, and motivation on how the applicant will contribute to sustainable development goals with a master’s degree from KTH.

The scholarship covers tuition fee for the first and second year, subject to satisfactory study results during the first year. The scholarship content states it does not include living costs, and no obligation after graduation is described.

• Must be a fee-paying student.
• Must have applied for a master’s programme at KTH as the first priority.
• Must have paid the application fee.
• Cannot apply for or be awarded a scholarship for programmes listed as the second, third or fourth priority.
• Only applicants who fulfil the admission requirements of the programme applied for are eligible for a scholarship.
• Programme eligibility: available for applicants to all master’s programmes with two years spent at KTH, the joint master’s programmes in Molecular Techniques in Life Science and Biostatistics and Data Science, and the one-year master’s programme in Architectural Lighting Design.
• Scholarships are not available to joint Erasmus+ and EIT programmes, and the joint programme Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering.
• For joint Erasmus+ and EIT programmes and Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering, applicants may apply for the KTH Joint Programme Scholarship.

• Full tuition fee for the first and second year of eligible one- or two-year master’s programmes (second year dependent on satisfactory first-year study results).
• Does not include living costs.

1. Apply for a master’s programme at KTH via universityadmissions.se before applying for the KTH Scholarship.
2. When the scholarship application is open, submit the KTH scholarship application using the form on the KTH scholarship page.
3. Submit scholarship application without additional documents; during evaluation, KTH uses the documents submitted in the universityadmissions.se application.
4. Ensure required universityadmissions.se documents are submitted by the document submission deadline (2 February).

• No additional documents are required for the scholarship application.
