The Bachelor in Life Sciences - Bioanalytik und Zellbiologie (Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, Studienrichtung Bioanalytik und Zellbiologie) prepares you to work with modern analytical, molecular, and cell biology methods. You learn to use techniques such as protein analyses, PCR, and fluorescence microscopy, and you choose focus topics including microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or bioanalytics.
Teaching is delivered as face-to-face learning. The program totals 180 ECTS points and is offered in full-time study and part-time study for students studying alongside work. You work in the laboratory from the first semester and apply theory in practice. A study abroad period is possible, and the program includes contact with professionals from industry and research during lectures.
After the degree, you can develop, analyze, and carry out bioassays and draw conclusions from them. You can culture microorganisms and cells under controlled conditions and use molecular-biology, bioanalytical, and diagnostic methods for medical questions, including cell and tissue engineering for pharmacological and toxicological questions in drug development.
