Bachelor of Education External Degree 2024

The Bachelor of Education External Degree Programme at Makerere University is for students admitted under Private/Self Sponsorship. Admission is subject to verification of academic documents by the awarding institutions. The College of Education and External Studies includes three schools: the School of Education, the School of Distance and Lifelong Learning, and the East African School of Higher Education Studies and Development.

Students are guided toward a competency-based education mode of delivery, where the teacher guides and the student takes responsibility for learning. Learners are encouraged to attend lectures consistently, participate in class, plan schedules, form discussion groups, and use university resources. Support is also described through digital learning, including access to the Makerere University E-Learning Environment and online discussions.
