Bachelor of Engineering Biomedical Engineering

The Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering at Ndejje University develops knowledge and practical skills to design, develop, and maintain medical devices and healthcare technologies. Students study areas such as biomedical instrumentation, medical imaging, biomechanics, biomaterials, clinical engineering, and healthcare technology management, supported by modules including Biomedical Instrumentation I, Biomedical Modeling and Simulation, and Clinical Engineering and Management.

Learning is delivered through laboratory work, hospital attachments, and hands-on training with modern equipment. The course runs over 4 years and uses a Day/Weekend study mode. The structure includes a Biomedical Engineering Internship II and a Research Project, alongside studio and engineering modules such as Engineering Drawing I, Engineering Mechanics I, and Electrical Circuit Analysis.

Direct Entry

• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least two principal passes in Physics, Mathematics, or Chemistry.
• O-Level (UCE) requirements include at least 5 passes, including credit passes in Math and Science subjects.

Diploma Entry

• Applicants must hold an Ordinary Technical Diploma from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) or its equivalent.
• Eligible diplomas include Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields in Medical Technology.
• A minimum of a Credit class diploma is generally required.

Mature Age Entry

• A minimum score of 50% in a recognized Mature Age Entry Examination

International Applicants

• Secondary school completion equivalent to Uganda’s A-Level
• Academic documents must be equated where necessary
• Proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English
