Bachelor of Engineering Geomatics

The Bachelor of Engineering in Geomatics at Ndejje University focuses on land surveying, mapping, geospatial analysis, and modern positioning technologies. Students build foundations in satellite navigation (GNSS), photogrammetry, remote sensing, GIS, cartography, hydrographic surveying, and land information systems. The learning outcomes include applying geospatial science principles to collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data, and producing maps, spatial models, and digital datasets for planning and decision-making.

Learning includes a course structure across four years, with modules such as Research Methods for Geomatics, GIS II Modeling & Analysis, Advanced GIS and Remote Sensing, Land Information Systems (LIS), Hydrographic Surveying, and Final Year Project. Study uses Day/Weekend delivery and includes hands-on training, fieldwork, and the use of tools such as total stations, GNSS receivers, drones, and GIS/remote sensing tools. The program prepares graduates for professional practice in land, engineering, and topographic surveying with ethical and safe work standards.

Direct Entry

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least 2 principal passes in Physics and Mathematics, and sometimes Chemistry or Geography, obtained at the same sitting.

Diploma Entry

• Relevant Diploma in Engineering or Geomatics/Surveying or related field (Upper Second or Credit), recognized by NCHE

Mature Age Entry

• A minimum score of 50% in a recognized Mature Age Entry Examination
• Applicants must hold a Credit or Second Class diploma, though some universities may require an Upper Second class.

International Applicants

• Secondary school completion equivalent to Uganda’s A-Level
• Academic documents must be equated where necessary
• Proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English
