About this program

The Bachelor of Records and Information Management at Ndejje University equips students with professional knowledge and hands-on skills to manage information assets across their lifecycle. Students study how to create, organize, preserve, secure, and manage records in both physical and electronic formats. The curriculum covers information governance, digital preservation, data security, documentation services, and compliance with national and international standards.

The program also includes field work placement for practical experience in records centers, archives, information departments, and digital repositories. It includes day/weekend study and runs for a duration of 3 years.

Entry requirements

Direct Entry

  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes
  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with 1 principal pass in a relevant subject.

Diploma Entry

  • Relevant Diploma in records management, information science, IT, library science or related field (Upper Second or Credit), recognized by NCHE

Mature Age Entry

  • A minimum score of 50% in a recognized Mature Age Entry Examination

International Applicants

  • Secondary school completion equivalent to Uganda’s A-Level
  • Academic documents must be equated where necessary
  • Proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English
