Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance at Mbarara University of Science and Technology is a specialist degree in accounting and finance. Students develop critical and analytical abilities for competence in accounting and related skills. The program also provides a foundation for careers in commerce, industry, and financial services such as banking, fund management, and insurance.

The course is full-time and lasts 3 years. It provides academically rigorous study of the principal accounting and finance disciplines, with a strong vocational orientation. On completion, graduates are described as proficient in accounting practices and able to progress to the professional level via pathways such as ACPAU, ACCA, or CIMA.

• Direct Entry: Two principal passes at A’level with at least one being either in Economics or Mathematics and a credit in Mathematics at UCE or Subsidiary Mathematics at A’level
• Diploma Entry: Hold UDBS or ODBS or HFM Diploma recognized by the University or must have completed at least level one of CPA, ACCA, or CIMA
• Higher Education Access Certificate (HEAC): The applicant should have passed the Higher Education Access Certificate (HEAC) with at least a credit
