Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Minerals Management and Technology

This Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Minerals Geoscience at Nkumba University builds knowledge in geological, geophysical, and geochemical principles of petroleum and minerals exploration. It includes courses on sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and remote sensing.

Students gain practical experience through field trips, laboratory work, and practical projects. The program lists experienced instructors and states that it prepares graduates for roles in government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

Direct Entry Scheme

• At least 5 passes at Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent;
• At least 2 principal passes at Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.

Diploma holders

• Hold a Credit or Second-Class Diploma in the relevant field from a recognized institution as determined by the University Senate.
• At least a Pass (50%) in Mature Entry Examinations.

Other

• A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study;
• Any equivalent qualifications besides UCE and UACE.
