Diploma in Civil Engineering

The Diploma in Civil Engineering at Ndejje University equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills for planning, design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure. Students study structural engineering, construction technology, surveying, materials science, and project management. The learning outcomes include applying civil engineering principles to design and construction, interpreting engineering drawings, and using basic design and construction tools.

Training combines theoretical work with real-life construction site experience and fieldwork. The course includes surveying, setting out, and construction site supervision, plus applying knowledge of building materials, soil mechanics, and structural principles in real projects. Students also assist in planning, managing, and executing civil engineering projects in compliance with standards. The award is a certificate, delivered on the main campus, by day/weekend study.

Direct Entry

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least 1 principal pass in Mathematics or Physics

Diploma Entry

• Relevant Certificate in Construction, Building, or related technical field (Credit or Upper Second), recognized by NCHE

Mature Age Entry

• A minimum score of 50% in a recognized Mature Age Entry Examination

International Applicants

• Secondary school completion equivalent to Uganda’s A-Level
• Academic documents must be equated where necessary
• Proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English
