Diploma in Vocational Arts Crafts and Design Studies

The Diploma in Vocational Arts/Crafts and Design Studies at Nkumba University is designed to build skills in Craft Design and Product Development. The programme focuses on using these skills to support self-employment and to create job opportunities for other people. A total load of 70 credit units is required for graduation.

Course modules are part of the programme structure, with the modules count shown as 4. Graduates follow career options that include Art Director, Graphic Designer, Fashion Designer, Interior Designer, Jewelry Designer, and Craftsperson.

Applicants for Diploma programmes should hold:

• A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a minimum of 5 passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
• Uganda Advanced Level Certificate (UACE) with at least one Principal Pass, and 2 subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
• Or A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study from a recognized institution;
• Or Any equivalent Certificate besides UCE and UACE from a recognized institution.
