The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Data Science at the University of Dubai is designed to build skills for data analysis, computing, and applied mathematics. The program focuses on techniques for managing complex data sets, using algorithms and data-driven computing programs to model and analyze data, and formulating and presenting analytics solutions for stakeholders. A Master of Science degree is awarded after the successful completion of a minimum of 30 credit hours.
The degree is organized into four semesters with a total of 30 CH courses. Students take eight courses across the semesters, with three courses offered each semester, plus one Master Thesis of 6 CH. The study plan includes Fundamentals of Data Science, Research Methods in Data Science, Statistics & Probability in Data Science, Data Visualization & Data Representation Techniques, Advanced Database Queries and Data Warehouse in Data Science, and Big Data Management using Hadoop, followed by electives and a Data Science Thesis.
