LLM Human Rights Conflict and Justice

SOAS’s LLM Human Rights, Conflict and Justice provides a specialisation in human rights law and related fields, with a focus on international issues and debates, particularly as they relate to the global South. Students study taught modules that include international human rights law, international criminal law, international refugee and migration law, international humanitarian law, and justice, reconciliation and reconstruction in post conflict societies.

The programme requires modules worth 180 credits, including a dissertation worth 60 credits and 120 credits of taught modules. Students on the Human Rights, Conflict and Justice pathway must take at least 60 credits from the specialist pathway options, including Human Rights of Women, Human Rights and Islamic Law, the International Human Rights Clinic, Law, Rights & Social Change, and International Migration Law. The LLM is available full-time or part-time.

A 2:1 degree in a relevant undergraduate degree.

If you have a lower degree classification, your application may be considered if you can present a strong case, either through relevant work experience, other legal qualifications, or a strong supporting statement.  References are not required, but can help build a stronger application if you fall below the 2:1 requirement or have non-traditional qualifications.
