Cranfield University Chevening Scholarships

Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government’s global scholarship programme funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. Chevening is aimed at developing global leaders and makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK. Awards are typically for a one-year master’s degree.

Chevening Scholars are supported for postgraduate study in the UK, covering a wide range of fields including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion and academia. Cranfield University offers Chevening scholarship recipients, and Chevening scholarships are suitable for applicants from “Rest of world” (excluding the USA and the EU). Applicants must apply for three different eligible UK university courses.

Selection is based on eligibility requirements and the applicant’s leadership potential and qualities, as described for Chevening applicants. Applicants are required to meet the Chevening English language requirement by July following application submission and to have received an unconditional offer from one of their eligible course choices by July following application submission.

A full Chevening Scholarship normally comprises tuition fees (with a £22,000 tuition fee cap applied to MBA programmes, with applicants expected to cover any remaining costs above the cap), economy travel by an approved route, an arrival allowance, visa application costs, a departure allowance, TB testing up to £75 where required, a travel top-up allowance, and a monthly personal living allowance. In Taiwan and Singapore, the scholarship only comprises tuition fees and one visa application. The page states recipients must return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after the award has ended.
