Cranfield University: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

Cranfield University is a public postgraduate research university in the United Kingdom, suited to students who want to study at advanced level in science, engineering, design, technology, or management. It is a fit if you are specifically looking for a postgraduate-focused institution rather than a broad undergraduate university.

  2. What you can study

Cranfield specialises in science, engineering, design, technology and management. It is a postgraduate university, so applicants should expect study to be concentrated at advanced level rather than across a full undergraduate catalogue.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should apply through the university’s official admissions process and check the course page for entry requirements, deadlines, and any programme-specific documents. The university’s website is the place to confirm the exact application steps, because those details can vary by subject.

  4. What it costs

The university does not publish a fee for international students in the information available here; confirm the current rate with its admissions office. Living costs will depend on location and personal spending, so budget separately for accommodation, food, transport, and course materials.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not stated here, so confirm that on the official website before applying. Also check visa requirements, entry qualifications, document translations if needed, and whether your chosen course has any subject-specific requirements.

  6. How it compares

Among the 193 universities in the United Kingdom, Cranfield stands out for being postgraduate-focused and for specialising in science, engineering, design, technology and management. That makes it more specialised than many general universities in the country, and better suited to students who already know the field they want to study.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
