University of Kent International PhD Scholarships in Advanced Research and Innovation in Environmental Sciences (ARIES)

The University of Kent is part of the Advanced Research and Innovation in the Environmental Sciences Doctoral Training Partnership, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council. The partnership is for environmental science doctoral training and aims to develop researchers with advanced skills, multidisciplinary outlooks, data handling ability, and public engagement skills.

These studentships are open to Home, EU and International candidates. At Kent, applications are available for the listed projects in environmental sciences. The University of Kent states that a limited number of ARIES studentships are available to International applicants.

Selection uses a two-stage interview process. If shortlisted at Kent, candidates first attend interviews at Kent, and successful nominees then take part in a second interview round with the ARIES panel.

Support includes a doctoral stipend, tuition fees at the home rate, and access to further research funding. Kent waives the difference between Home and International fees for international candidates. The funding does not cover relocation or living costs in the UK, including visa costs or the health surcharge.
