About this program

The Forestry PhD at Stephen F. Austin State University is a research-intensive doctoral degree in forestry. Entry requirements

To be eligible for consideration into the program, you must:

  • meet SFA's graduate school requirements
  • have an overall graduate 3.5 GPA or higher
  • and hold or qualify for a master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • If you don't have an undergraduate or graduate degree in forestry or a related field, you must provide a combined GRE score of at least 300.
  • Note: If your GPA falls between 2.8 and 3.4, you may be considered for probationary status.
