The Graduate Certificate for Dual Credit Teaching in Government at St. Mary’s University helps high school instructors become credentialed to teach Dual Credit Government courses. Students build a foundation in American government, political institutions, and classical and contemporary political thought, with a focus on preparing educators to teach college-level government courses in Texas high schools.
The program is designed as a cohort with meaningful faculty interaction. It is a fully online asynchronous program with 18 credit-hours and a completion timeline of 12 months. Two courses are offered each semester beginning in the summer, and all listed courses are available online.
Interested applicants must complete the online application and upload a copy of their highest degree-granting transcript (bachelor’s or master’s). The GRE/GMAT is not required for admission to this certificate program. Please note: an unofficial copy of your transcript can be used to apply for admission to this program. If enrolled in the program, students will be required to submit an official transcript within four weeks of the start of class.
