The Teaching Multilingual Learners Graduate Certificate is a four-course program that prepares current teachers, prospective teachers, and other professionals working with multilingual students to implement instructional strategies to help them succeed academically. It also prepares initially certified teachers to pass the Praxis II ESOL exam and earn a MSDE TESOL endorsement.
The certificate is offered 100% online in synchronous and asynchronous formats. Students can take it alone, independent of a master’s program, and TU graduate students in specified programs can enroll to earn an additional graduate certificate. School teachers can participate in one-year cohorts and may receive reduced tuition through the Towson Learning Network partnerships with regional school systems.
