Bachelor of Science Honours in Agricultural Management

The Bachelor of Science Honours in Agricultural Management at Zimbabwe Open University focuses on agricultural science and the management of agricultural production. You study scientific principles and theories in agricultural science, apply scientific knowledge to sustainable production of animal and crop products, and use scientific and technological skills to manage agricultural production. The course also builds problem-solving and production-system design skills.

Learning is organised through Part I, Part II, Part III and Part IV, with a minimum total of 504 credit points. Your studies include modules across farm animals, soil science, crop production, farm management, resource management, genetics, microbiology, and research. Teaching includes a practicum, a research proposal, and a research project.

To be admitted to the programme a prospective student must have:

• At least 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject incorporating Biology and Chemistry (e.g. Integrated Science, General Science, Agriculture, Chemistry and Biology) at Grade C or better
• Advanced Level passes in Biology or Agriculture plus any other Science subject
• Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture or related field of study
• Articulation as provided by the ZNQF
• A prospective student may be admitted on special entry or through Accreditation of Prior Learning route in accordance with the University’s General Academic Regulations.
