Bachelor's in English Writing

English Writing is a Bachelor program taught at Redeemer College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Redeemer University’s English Writing is a Bachelor of Arts degree offered as an honours major, a major, or a minor. Students read works of accomplished writers and study different ways of reading and writing through close readings, critical analysis, and practice across genres. The program includes courses such as Expository Writing I, Writing Fiction, and Journalistic Writing I: Reporting and Newswriting.

English Writing uses small seminar-style classes with group discussions, peer review, and critical analysis supported by faculty who are accomplished and published authors. Upper-year students can take a Senior Writing Project course in a workshop format under a writing specialist. Students can also take a semester abroad at Oxford University in England, visit theatrical productions, museums, and historical sites, or participate in the Uganda Studies Program for reflective, analytical, practical writing.

The minimum requirements for admission in English Writing at Redeemer College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Redeemer College.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Redeemer College as pre-requiste for admission in English Writing.

• Successful completion of Grade 12 U English
• Five additional Grade 12 U or M level courses
• Minimum grade average of 70% for general major or 80% for honours major
• No O-level courses or Co-op courses used
