Master of Education
Introduction
Master of Education is a Masters program taught at Redeemer College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1–2 years) options.
Redeemer University’s Master of Education (MEd) prepares Christian educators to lead in teaching and administrative roles in schools, churches and not-for-profits. Students study EDU 510 The Nature and Purpose of Education, EDU 520 To Know, Teach, and Lead as You are Known, EDU 530 Mind, Brain Science, & Learning, and EDU 540 Humanity, Technology, and the Future of Education, then continue with research or course-based options.
The MEd is a part-time program delivered through online instruction with a required in-person summer residency. Students take one course per term and work in a small 25-person learning cohort with faculty mentors through group discussions and virtual activities. The research-intensive track includes a major research project, while the course-based track includes leadership or educator electives and a culminating capstone project.
Graduates of Redeemer’s MEd can pursue the next stage of their educational careers, including leadership roles, instructional specialization, or doctoral studies in education. The program also includes a statement of intent as part of the admissions process.
