Introduction

Psychology is a Bachelor program taught at Redeemer College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Psychology at Redeemer College is a Bachelor of Arts degree offered as an honours major, a major, and a minor. Students study human thought, emotion and behaviour, using scientific, theoretical and experiential tools to investigate human strengths and well-being. In the first year, students are introduced to clinical psychology (counselling and working with people) and experimental psychology (research and testing), alongside foundational history, research methodologies, and an overview of human development.

Courses are taught in seminar-style classes. Students take the Psychology Core, described as a set of 10 courses taken by every student, woven through the major. Learning includes in-class experiments, critical review of research methods and findings, student assistance in psychology lab research projects, and a one-term internship with applied or research psychology experience in real-world organizations.

The programme includes honours major, major, and minor pathways, with honours electives that can align to clinical, theoretical or experimental foci. Redeemer College describes alumni career areas that include roles such as registered psychotherapists, crisis counsellors, mental health workers, play therapists, psychometrists, youth workers, behaviour consultants, advertising agents, market researchers, and teachers.
