Angewandte Biologie – Food and Pharma at Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen is a Bachelor program focused on biology and biotechnology, and on nutrition and pharmazeuticals. The curriculum starts with naturwissenschaftliche and technologischen Grundlagen, then shifts to Biochemie, Molekularbiologie, Bioanalytische Assays, Mikrobiologie, Lebensmittelchemie, and pharmazeutische Chemie und Biotechnologie. It also includes Grundlagen Lebensmittel und Ernährung and topics such as Nährstoffe, Supplemente und Pflanzeninhaltsstoffe.
The study structure includes naturwissenschaftliches Grundpraktikum, Wissenschaftliches Arbeiten und Präsentieren, and a Praxissemester (IPS). In the Praxissemester, students work on projects in a company of their choice and build early contacts with potential employers. The later semesters add further specialization through Wahlpflichtbereich modules, followed by Projektarbeit and Bachelorthesis.
