Bachelor's in Food Science (praxisintegriert dual)

Food Science (praxisintegriert dual) is a Bachelor program taught at Hochschule Bremerhaven, Germany. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Food Science (praxisintegriert dual) at Hochschule Bremerhaven is a Bachelor of Engineering. The programme combines scientific work at the Hochschule with practical activity in a partner company in the food-related industries. Students study and apply food science using a mix of technological and business-focused training.

The full-time study form lasts 6 semesters. Praxis phases in the company alternate with on-campus presence. Teaching includes transfer modules such as Industrieprojekt I and Industrieprojekt II, a praxis-oriented semester in the company, plus Study Project. Students also complete additional practice phases during lecture-free and exam-free times, with ongoing exchange between companies and academic staff.

Graduates are prepared for work in the food industry, including positions as Lebensmitteltechnolog:innen and Lebensmittelwirtschaftler:innen. The programme is designed for students who are employed by the cooperating company and selected for higher positions.

Voraussetzung für die Zulassung zum Studium ist eine allgemeine Hochschulreife, Fachhochschulreife oder ein als gleichwertig anerkannter Bildungsabschluss. Für ausländische Studierende gilt als Zulassungsvoraussetzung das Sprachniveau C1 in Deutsch. Zudem führt seit Frühjahr 2024 eine 3-jährige Ausbildung zu einer fachgebundenen Hochschulzugangsberechtigung. Eine Bewerbung ist nur mit einem Ausbildung- oder Studienvertrag von einem kooperierenden Unternehmen möglich. Eine Bewerbung erfolgt zuerst im kooperierenden Unternehmen.

Englischkenntnisse sollen dem Niveau B1 des gemeinsamen Europäischen Referenzrahmens für Sprachen entsprechen.
