Master's in Demokratie und Wirtschaft

Demokratie und Wirtschaft is a Masters program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Winter. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 semesters) options.

Universität Erfurt offers the Master-Studiengang Demokratie und Wirtschaft (Politikwissenschaft, Wirtschaftswissenschaft), a two-in-one programme that combines political science and economics. Students analyse how democratic and economic orders work and how they interact. The curriculum covers political science and economics together, including approaches to actors, organisations, and institutions, with historical, cultural, and current connections.

The programme is designed as a research-oriented master with mandatory training in quantitative and qualitative methods and two to three written papers (each 12 LP/ECTS). It runs for a four-semester structure: disziplinäre Einstiegsbereiche, disziplinäre Kernbereiche, interdisziplinäre Themenbereiche, and an Abschlussmodul with Forschungskolloquium and Master-Arbeit. The master thesis can be written with a research institution or a practice partner. A Fast-Track option for particularly qualified students supports application toward promotion.
