Master's in Gesundheitskommunikation

Gesundheitskommunikation is a Masters program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Winter. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 semesters) options.

The Universität Erfurt’s Master’s programme in Gesundheitskommunikation focuses on health communication for health promotion and disease prevention. Students study the research tension between communication about health and illness, including how communication shapes social and psychological conditions, meanings, and outcomes. The programme addresses intended and non-intended intrapersonal, interpersonal, medial, and public communication, with an emphasis on evidence-informed health communication (Health Communication).

Study is organised as a three-semester study phase plus one semester for the Master’s thesis. The programme includes Pflichtbereich modules: Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft (depending on prior experience), Psychologie (depending on prior experience), Gesundheitskommunikation & Gesundheitspsychologie, Statistik, Empirische Methoden, Praktikum, and Master-Arbeit. Students also complete Wahlpflichtbereich (1 of 2) and Wahlbereich (3 of 7). A Praktikum deepens contacts and experiences in practice.

The minimum requirements for admission in Gesundheitskommunikation at Universität Erfurt for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Universität Erfurt.
