Introduction

Musik is a Bachelor program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Winter. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (6 Semesters) options.

The Universität Erfurt Bachelor-Studiengang Musik combines music studies in the Hauptfach and Nebenfach within a two-subject degree. Students build knowledge in Musikwissenschaft und Musiktheorie and develop music-practical and music-pedagogical skills, including Instrumentalspiel, Gesang, ensembles, and teaching-oriented components such as Vermittlung, Präsentation, and Produktion of music through different media.

The programme runs in an Orientierungsphase (1–2. Semester) and a Qualifizierungsphase (3–6. Semester) in both Hauptfach Musik and Nebenfach Musik. It includes artistic practice (Instrumental and Vokal), topics such as Bewegung/Tanz/Szenisches Spiel, Gruppenmusizieren, Schulpraktische Bandarbeit or Studioarbeit/Musikproduktion, and an integrative Abschlussmodul in the Hauptfach. For practice, students complete a berufs field-oriented interdisziplinäres Praktikum; Lehramt students also complete school practice in the main subject.

This Bachelor programme leads to a Bachelor of Arts (B. A.). Graduates work in roles listed by Universität Erfurt, including music instruction in schools or support centers, positions on a free teaching market such as private music schools and individual lessons, and work in youth culture centers, cultural offices, and subject-related areas such as music education and music research.
