Bachelor's in Religionswissenschaft

Religionswissenschaft is a Bachelor program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Winter. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (6 Semester) options.

Bachelor-Studiengang Religionswissenschaft at Universität Erfurt studies how different religions work in history and present. It looks at forms religions take, how they change, and what they mean for individuals, groups, and society. The focus is on the traditions that shape European culture: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and on ancient religious history. The programme also includes religious plurality, taught in a global context.

The bachelor is a two-subject degree with a Hauptfach and a Nebenfach. Hauptfach students choose one study area as a focus, while Nebenfach students study in depth in at least two areas. The programme addresses topics such as sense-making, time, space and environment, violence, migration, gender relations, death, and ideas of the afterlife using different methods and theoretical approaches. It can be combined with a teacher education path for teaching Ethik.
