Introduction
Staatswissenschaften – Wirtschaftswissenschaft is a Bachelor program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Winter. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (6 semesters) options.
Bachelor-Studiengang Wirtschaftswissenschaft (Staatswissenschaften) at Universität Erfurt focuses on economic processes through different theoretical perspectives. Students analyze organizations and households as participants and actors in market processes, including intended and unintended effects. The programme also examines how decentralized national economies function, and how private and public organizations operate, change, and influence the economic process.
The curriculum includes key topics such as the possibilities and limits of correcting poor developments through institutional rules and economic policy interventions. Wirtschaftswissenschaft is offered as a Zwei-Fach-Bachelor with a Hauptfach and a Nebenfach, and the Hauptfach includes the “Studium Fundamentale”. The programme is structured into an Orientierungsphase (O-Phase) and a Qualifizierungsphase (Q-Phase), with the Q-Phase ending in the Hauptfach with the Bachelorarbeit.
