Master's in Theologie und Wirtschaft

Theologie und Wirtschaft is a Masters program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Winter. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 semesters) options.

Theologie und Wirtschaft at Universität Erfurt is a Master of Arts focused on combining theological studies with economics and business knowledge. Students complete modules in two study areas: Theologie and Wirtschaft, plus a Master’s thesis in a theological discipline.

The program is organized with module requirements of 30 Leistungspunkte in each of the two study areas. An additional 30 Leistungspunkte can be taken in a Wahlbereich to deepen one or both areas. It is offered in Voll- und Teilzeit over four semesters, and the curriculum includes a Praktikum as well as modules such as Sozialethik – Globalität – Gerechtigkeit and Organisation.

Universität Erfurt states that graduates are prepared for leadership and advisory tasks in organizations where values matter, including Wohlfahrtsverbände such as Caritas or Diakonie, international NGOs, Social Business, foundations, non-profit companies, and church providers of social services.

The minimum requirements for admission in Theologie und Wirtschaft at Universität Erfurt for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Universität Erfurt.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Universität Erfurt as pre-requiste for admission in Theologie und Wirtschaft.

For admission to the MA Theologie und Wirtschaft, a Bachelor’s degree is required with knowledge that includes at least 60 LP in one and at least 30 LP in the other field of study.

• Possible Bachelor pathways include Katholische Religion and Wirtschaftswissenschaft, with one subject as a Hauptfach and the other as a Nebenfach according to the Prüfungsordnung of Universität Erfurt.
• Alternative theological knowledge can be from comparable Bachelor programs in Katholische Theologie/Religion or protestant/evangelical Theologie/Religion, christl. Religionspädagogik (inkl. FH), or allgemeine Religionswissenschaften.
• Economic knowledge requires completed fachlich einschlägige Studiengänge in the Bereich der Wirtschaftswissenschaft.

If requirements are missing, where there are 60 LP in one field but less than 30 LP in the other, up to 18 LP can be made up in the latter field. These achievements must be completed by admission to the Master-Arbeit.
