Introduction

Master of Education Regelschule Dual is a Masters program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Wintersemester. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 semesters) options.

Universität Erfurt offers the Master of Education Regelschule, dual (Lehramt), a dual master programme that prepares students to work as teachers at a Regelschule for the subjects Deutsch, Englisch, Mathematik, Sport and Wirtschaftslehre/Technik. Students acquire knowledge about the social conditions of school and teaching, and about designing teaching and learning processes and supporting individual educational processes.

The programme combines educational science modules and school practice modules at both Universität Erfurt and the training school. It is designed for a regular study duration of two semesters and can only be started in the Wintersemester.

Students complete educational science modules including Diagnostizieren, Beurteilen und Beraten; Heterogenität und Inklusion; and Bildungssystem, Schulentwicklung und Professionalisierung im Lehrberuf, plus school practice modules at the university and training school. The Master-Arbeit is an applied master thesis in the subject where the Bachelor thesis was not written.

Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in Master of Education Regelschule Dual at Universität Erfurt for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

program specific academic requirment set by Universität Erfurt.
English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Universität Erfurt as pre-requiste for admission in Master of Education Regelschule Dual.

Fachspezifische Eignung is fulfilled if you can prove an appropriate degree in two different lehramtsrelevant study subjects for Unterrichtsfächer at the Regelschule and meet the disciplinary access requirements for the chosen Unterrichtsfächer.

Disciplinary access requirements include, for example, the listed bachelor subject combinations for Deutsch, Englisch, Mathematik, Sport and Wirtschaft-Recht-Technik / Technik.
For external applicants: proof of completion of a higher education degree (or comparable degree) with a regular study period of at least eight semesters.
Proof of subject fundamentals for the relevant Unterrichtsfächer of the Regelschule, the Bildungswissenschaften and the Schulpraxis, comparable in scope to the dual Bachelor of Education at Universität Erfurt.
The Prüfungsausschuss decides on equivalence of the access requirements on application.
Important: enrolment in the dual Master of Education Regelschule is only possible with a valid Studienvertrag with the Freistaat Thüringen.

Für externe Bewerber*innen gilt: Internationale Bewerber*innen with a mother tongue other than German must provide proof of German knowledge (Niveau B1) with the application.

Bis zum Ende des Studiums: If an Unterrichtsfach is a Fremdsprache, students must prove knowledge of level C1 in that language by the end of the programme.
