Engineering Technology: Concentration Manufacturing Engineering Technology is a Bachelor of Science program that prepares graduates to work in manufacturing industries designing and improving processes. Students develop skills across manufacturing processes, automated manufacturing, computer-aided design and manufacturing, and fixture and tooling design. The program also includes project management, engineering economic analysis, and communication skills.
Students take technology foundation coursework and use industry-standard solid modeling design software in a required course. The taught software is CREO Parametric, and after completion students can claim almost 40 hours of instruction on design software used by employers in the region. The concentration includes courses in computer-aided design and solid modeling, machine design, manufacturing, robotics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, additive manufacturing and 3D printers, production operations management, Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), and automation, plus a capstone project focused on teamwork and leadership.
