Aviation Human Factors and Safety - Flight, B.S.
Introduction
Aviation Human Factors and Safety - Flight, B.S. is a Bachelor program taught at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Aviation Human Factors and Safety - Flight program studies the human element in human–machine interactions, with an emphasis on applying those principles to the design and operation of engineered systems for safety. The B.S. combines psychology, engineering, science, and design with pilot training. Students are prepared for careers as pilots and for work in safety analysis, human-centered design, and accident investigation, and for advanced degrees in human factors or safety.
Learning includes theoretical foundations plus practical application through hands-on projects and human factors research. Students build a portfolio of career-relevant experience. Training and study involve flight line instruction and facilities such as aircraft and simulators, a computer lab for aviation subjects, and CAD-based projects for designing airports and airport terminals. Practice also includes desktop simulators for air traffic control operations in the Basic Aviation Training Device (BATD) Lab.
