Bachelor's in Astrogeophysics major
Introduction
Astrogeophysics major is a Bachelor program taught at Colgate University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Astrogeophysics Major is a multidisciplinary program for students interested in the study of the solar system and planetary matter. Students use astronomical observations, physical models, chemical constraints, and geological interpretations to study Earth in its planetary context and the processes that shaped Earth and other planets over time. The program also emphasizes qualitative and quantitative reasoning about global issues such as the accelerating pace of global change and planetary habitability.
Students plan a course sequence with the program director because many required courses have prerequisites. The major is structured around Physical Science, Geology Courses, Mathematical Astrophysics, Astrophysics, and Senior Research, followed by Advanced Courses. Students complete senior research through an approved senior research course and, for honors, complete and successfully defend an honors thesis.
