Bachelor's in Biology major
Introduction
Biology major is a Bachelor program taught at Colgate University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Biology major at Colgate University includes two required biology courses that build a common conceptual foundation: BIOL 181 (Evolution, Ecology, and Diversity) with BIOL 181L, and BIOL 182 (Molecules, Cells, and Genes) with BIOL 182L. Students also complete a required Chemistry sequence and a “Process of Biology” course requirement, plus electives for breadth and specialization.
The major includes required Chemistry courses (CHEM 101 with CHEM 101L, CHEM 102 with CHEM 102L, or an eligible substitution with CHEM 111 and CHEM 111L). For the Process of Biology requirement, students choose one course with lab from BIOL 201–BIOL 206. Students then complete five electives, including rules for course level and lab components, and a one-credit research tutorial experience.
