Introduction

Medieval and Renaissance Studies minor is a Bachelor program taught at Colgate University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Medieval and Renaissance Studies minor at Colgate University requires at least five courses selected with the approval of an adviser belonging to the MARS faculty. Students complete a History elective requirement through a course with HIST subject code and an attribute of XMAR, choosing one option such as Europe in the Middle Ages, The Crusades, Europe in the Age of the Renaissance and Reformation, Medieval England, or The Medieval Church.

Students then take three additional electives from courses with an attribute of XMAR. These electives include options in art, English, French, Latin, music, philosophy, political science, religion, and Spanish. The minor also includes one 400-level seminar with the attribute of XMAR as a capstone. The minor allows one year of Latin at Colgate to count as one course toward the minor.
