Applied Mathematics
Introduction
Applied Mathematics is a program taught at Davidson College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Applied Mathematics interdisciplinary minor at Davidson offers an introduction to the process of modeling natural or social phenomena using mathematical systems. Students work toward building skills in developing a range of mathematical tools, understanding the limitations of a mathematical model, and treating modeling as a dynamic process. The minor is organized around applying these ideas within a specific domain of application.
The interdisciplinary minor has two tracks: a natural science emphasis and a social science emphasis. Either track is open to all students regardless of major. The emphasis area determines the domain in which students experience the modeling process and develop the related mathematical tools.
