Introduction

Engineering is a program taught at Davidson College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Davidson offers engineering through cooperative dual degree engineering programs in partnership with Columbia University in New York and Washington University in St. Louis. The program is designed to help students build a strong foundation in science, mathematics, and computer science to support engineering problem-solving, while also developing communication skills for clear exchange of ideas and an appreciation of the social and ethical context of technological problems.

Students have access to one-on-one advising and opportunities for hands-on research with real-world connections to engineering. The program also includes turnkey engineering independent studies with pre-made curricula and problem sets. Facilities named include the physics department machine shop, Studio M makerspace, and quality instrumentation, with students applying theory through projects such as off-road racing vehicles, a zero-emission solar vessel, and an off-grid tiny house.
