Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics is for students interested in how mathematics is applied in areas outside of mathematics, and in the combination of technology and mathematics. Applied Mathematics majors choose one application area: accounting, biology, business, chemistry, computer science, cybersecurity, data analytics, education, general science, psychology, or web development and design. Students also earn a minor in computer science, cyber security, data analytics, or management information systems.

Instruction is delivered through work with faculty members who act as teachers and mentors, with technology infused into the mathematics courses. The program also supports research with faculty mentors and includes internships for Applied Mathematics majors at companies such as Anheuser Busch, Boeing, Emerson, Enterprise, Equifax Workforce Solutions, Maritz Corporation, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Nestle Purina, RGA, and REJIS Commission. Recent graduates work in roles including Data Scientist at Boeing and Financial Advisor at Edward Jones.
