DNP: Doctor of Nursing Practice
Introduction
DNP: Doctor of Nursing Practice is a program taught at Graceland College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Graceland College’s DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) is an online graduate program with leadership and advanced clinical training. It prepares doctoral-prepared nurses for high-level responsibilities in patient care, health care systems, academics, and policy making, with roles in areas such as informatics, public health, public policy, administration, and education. The program has two tracks: one for registered nurses and advanced practice nurses holding a graduate degree, and one for nurses who have completed their BSN or who are not NPs.
The curriculum combines evidence-based coursework with applied practice and a DNP Practice Improvement Project. Courses include quality improvement, health care policy, population health, and organizational leadership, with emphasis on translating research into measurable outcomes. Several courses include field experiences and supervised practice hours (including a course with mandatory completion of pre-clinical HIPAA and Standard Precaution requirements and pre-scheduled Live Chat sessions). The DNP project includes proposal, implementation, analysis and dissemination, and continuous enrollment for completion.
