Computer Science
Introduction
Computer Science is a Bachelor program taught at Heidelberg College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Computer Science major at Heidelberg College focuses on modeling, designing, and constructing software, along with the underlying theory of hardware operation and logical foundations. Students apply systems-level perspective across computer hardware, software, and networks, and use mathematical and logical foundations, algorithmic principles, and problem-solving to meet computing specifications.
Required coursework includes Computer Programming I and II, Computer Organization, Data Structures, Programming Languages, Data Communications and Networking, and Computer and Network Security, plus a Senior Capstone Experience. Students also take Ethics or Ethics in Professional Life and complete Statistics I and one additional math course. Coursework uses access to an advanced computing lab with specialized multimedia workstations, individualized virtual machines, geographic information systems, robotics equipment, and rack-mounted wireless network equipment.
