Introduction

Master of Athletic Training is a Masters program taught at Heidelberg College, USA. Intake: August. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (two year program) options.

The Master of Athletic Training Program at Heidelberg University prepares qualified entry-level athletic trainers for employment in a variety of clinical settings. Students apply theories, concepts, and skills from the classroom through clinical education experiences in sports medicine clinics, universities, industries, physician offices, and local area high schools. Clinical experiences include work with equipment-intensive sports such as football and lacrosse, plus activities that emphasize the upper or lower extremities, such as baseball, softball, and soccer.

The program is designed to be a two-year program and covers the required curriculum for professional organizations and the Board of Certification. Students also gain exposure to general medical conditions in settings such as local physicians’ offices, urgent care clinics, and emergency rooms. Clinical education experiences support preparation for the certification process and examination administered by the Board of Certification (BOC) for a career as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in a variety of professional settings.
