Anthropology
Introduction
Anthropology is a program taught at Kenai Peninsula College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Anthropology at Kenai Peninsula College focuses on the study of human beings and human societies across time and space. Students explore questions such as Alaska’s first peoples, the survival of the Inupiat in Arctic conditions, and how Alaska’s Native cultures compare to cultures in the Lower 48 and beyond. The program prepares students to study archaeology, physical anthropology, and linguistic anthropology, with a balanced exposure to these sub-fields.
Anthropology courses at KPC are offered on KPC campuses and lead to partial completion of a UAA degree. The BA in Anthropology can be completed online, and students are told to work closely with their advisor to stay on track. The program includes opportunities for internships so students can gain real-life field experience.
