Diploma in Barber
Introduction
Barber is a Diploma program taught at Madison Area Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.
The Barber Technical Diploma at Madison Area Technical College trains you for a career as a licensed barber. You study barbering skills such as haircutting concepts, hair coloring, shampoo and scalp treatments, hair design, shaving and facials, guest services and client relations, and guest-focused salon business.
Delivery is Some Online/Some In Person. Students attend class full-time during the day, Monday through Friday, and Barber classes are offered at the Madison College Truax campus. Learning is real-world and hands-on, using mannequins and volunteer models in the salon setting, plus an externship chosen at a local barber shop for 144 unpaid hours.
After completing the program, you are eligible to take the state test to become licensed as a practitioner. The program is designed to help you move into licensure, with a smaller mention that a two-year Barber Apprenticeship is an alternative if you want to work in a barbershop while learning.
