The B.A. in Communication with a Concentration in Communication, Culture, and Leadership focuses on evaluating, designing, integrating, presenting, and implementing messages to solve real-world problems. Students develop skills in speaking, writing, persuasion, performance, public advocacy, and digital storytelling while exploring electives in public relations, journalism, and media studies and production. The curriculum also includes Core Courses in Interpersonal Communication, Rhetoric and Persuasion, and Business and Professional Communication.

Students apply communication skills through work with community partners, student-run clubs and organizations, and undergraduate research and internships. CommWorks (Students Committed to Performance) provides opportunities to use performance to transform, educate, entertain, and empower audiences. The Monmouth Oral Communication Center (MOCC) offers peer-coaching for students who want to improve oral presentation skills.
