MASS COMMUNICATION
Introduction
MASS COMMUNICATION is a Bachelor program taught at Nicholls State University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Mass Communication program in the Department of Mass Communication (MACO) prepares students for careers in industries requiring mass communication skills and supports engaged citizenship. The faculty focuses on professional skills and values for mass-media-related fields, plus general knowledge and critical thinking. Students build skills in “service-learning projects, practicums,” and projects involving media or public relations organizations.
Learning is supported through the department’s convergence media center in Talbot Hall, which brings student media into one space and supports producing content across platforms, including KNSU-TV, KNSU-FM, The Nicholls Worth, and La Pirogue. Students are encouraged to complete internships and gain professional experience through traditional coursework and media or public relations projects.
