Bachelor's in Religious Studies

Religious Studies is a Bachelor program taught at Occidental College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Religious Studies at Occidental College examines how people make meaning through belief, practice, and community. Students study religion across time and place and explore how religion shapes communities, identities, and public life through courses that engage themes such as life and death, race, sex and gender, politics, law, medicine, and the environment.

The program uses interdisciplinary methods and draws on history, anthropology, sociology, literature, economics, and gender and sexuality studies to build evidence-based arguments. Students complete an in-depth Senior Comprehensive project, which develops an original research question through written work and an oral presentation. Students also have the option to pursue faculty-mentored, full-time, paid summer undergraduate research and present findings at the Summer Research Conference.

Graduates pursue graduate study and careers in law, medicine, business, government, NGO work, social services, and education, in fields where cultural understanding and clear communication matter.
